Gert Kapo is a Cologne, Germany based Pianist, Arranger and Composer originally from Tirana, Albania.
Being the son of two pianists, he started playing the piano when he was 6. The first public appearances with the Albania Symphony Orchestra at the age of 10 were followed by numerous concerts and national prices.
He studied classical piano at “Musikhochschule Köln” from 1994-2003 with Prof. Günther Ludwig and Prof. Dr.h.c Arbo Valdma. His award winning diploma was followed by a Master’s degree.
He gave performances and made various national and international tours – solo, within chamber musical projects and as well as with different international Jazz and Worldmusic artists. A strong interest and passion in Jazz & improvised music, the music of the Balkans and other ethnically influenced musical expressions led to him founding his first multiethnic Band “Mezartha” in 2007.
The formation “Mezartha” made it to the finals of Future Sounds ’08 Jazz- Competition (Leverkusener Jazztage). Two years later in 2010 for the second time with Lithuanian jazz singer Taurinta Rigertaite for whom he had produced an Album the same year.
One of his latest Projects acting as a Composer/Pianist/Co-Producer is Eda Zari´s last Album- “Toka Incognita” with guest musicians as Dominic Miller – Guitars & Rahni Krija – Percussions, both steady musicians of Sting´s Band and also Sebastian Studnizky on trumpet, Martin Gjakonovski on Bass, as well as multi-instrumentalist Wladiswar Nadishana.
He is currently working and playing with: “Eda Zari & Band”, “Abiodun & Sidekick”, “TheWorldTravellers” & “Simply Soleil”.
Vincent ‘Themba’ Goritzki’s started his musical career in South Africa as a sideman of the well known afropop singer Swazi Dlamini. The country South Africa and its people has been one of the most important experiences for him, musically and culturally. The name Themba relates to his integration in one of South Africas Townships in a Zulu community and has been given to him by its people.
Vincent Themba’s musical repertoire includes jazz, world music, afro, pop and hip-hop. As a guitarist and composer he has played and worked together with Tim Heintz (MD Chaka Khan), Daniel Schnyder (NY), Simply Soleil, Chupacabras, HopStop Banda, Diamondog (Angola/Berlin) and South African stars such as Ernie Smith, Mimi Ntenjwa, Swazi Dlamini and Tshepo Mngoma.
Roman Fuchß (born in 1977 in Simmern/Hunsrück) made his first musical steps in learning Tenorhorn and trombone. He switched to string instruments and studied electric bass guitar at the Musikhochschule Köln with Andreas Lonardoni, Marius Goldhammer and Dieter Manderscheidt. It was followed by numerous performances as bassist in jazz and fusion formations, blues, rock and big bands, collaborations with musical performances and choral concerts, as well as Studio recordings and productions for the WDR – television and – radio.
He attended masterclasses by Norbert Dömling and Alain Caron, where he focused on Latin styles of Brazil, Cuba, Colombia and performed with musicians such as Alfonso Garrido, Roland Peil, Jemma Endersby etc.
